(This story has some historical facts and some things I invented)
------------------------------
The path was everlasting, as always. They say that as you're dying you get to see your life replay itself in front of you, well in the case of Dean Charles it was a little bit different, he got to live it all again.
Summer of '28, Montpellier, France.
Dean's very first school day. He braces his mother's skirt not wanting to let go. This was as hard for him as it was for his mother, they had always been together in his 5 years of life. After all, a little child's relationship with his mother is the most sacred and strong link there can be. As his mother leaves she gives him a last hug, he can smell her perfume and hear her heart beat, it is as if they were one for just one moment.
Winter of '36, Paris, France.
Dean starts to realize that his mother is never coming back home. She is missing since the summer of '28 and he is slowly losing the hope to see her again someday. He and his father moved to Paris one year ago. He knew it had been the most difficult decision in his father's life to move here, he had always waited for his mother to come back, always came back home hoping to find her face smiling back at him. Only it never came, after 7 long years everybody knew deep inside that she was never really coming back but his father always had faith. One year ago Dean's father received the job offer of his life: His own page in one of the most famous newspapers in the whole France, Le Monde. But for that he would have to move into France, leaving all of his hope behind and start a new life. Weeks passed for him to decide, until one day he packed all of their things and left a letter for his wife telling her how much he loved her and that they were starting a new life with Dean in Paris.
